With their work Cyprus – A Culinary Journey, Marianne Salentin-Träger and her team have won six international awards: The ITB Book Award, the world’s biggest tourism fair in Berlin; the GOURMAND World Cookbook Award as best cookbook about Cyprus; the IACP Cookbook Award from the International Association of Culinary Professionals in Washington; and the GAD SILVER MEDAL from the Gastronomic Academy Germany in Frankfurt.

In addition, it has also won the BEST IN THE WORLD GOURMAND COOKBOOK AWARD and Best COOKBOOK from the past 20 years in the category Mediterranean World Cuisine.

The 336-page travel cookbook is the product of a close cooperation between Cypriot culinary expert Marilena Joannides and German star chef Franz Keller. The excellent book concept and design were the work of graphic designer Oliver Hick-Schulz. The treasures of the island were captured by the internationally acclaimed photographers Anja Jahn and Markus Bassler. The texts were written by food and travel journalist Rita Henss, and the wine chapter was penned by sommelier Astrid Zieglmeier. The Transfiction Team in Berlin carried out the English translation. Marianne Salentin-Träger: “We are very proud about the honourable awards and it has been a pleasure to support Cyprus as one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world!”
